Senator Marshall Praises USDA “Product of USA” Label
Washington – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), today praised the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) announcement of a new national public awareness campaign promoting the voluntary “Product of USA” labeling standard, which ensures meat, poultry, and egg products bearing the label are born, raised, harvested, and processed in the United States.
“America’s farmers and ranchers produce the safest, most abundant food supply in the world, and they deserve a fair marketplace that reflects that,” said Senator Marshall.“The ‘Product of USA’ label is a commonsense step to restore transparency and ensure consumers know exactly where their food comes from. When a product carries that label, it should mean it was born, raised, and processed right here in the United States—period.”
Background:
- Senator Marshall has long advocated for increased transparency in food labeling and policies that prioritize American agriculture, rural economies, and consumer trust. Including, introducing the Bona Fide Beef Branding Act.
