Senator Marshall Visits Kansas Community Leaders and Small Businesses in Topeka
Topeka – This week, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), visited local leaders and small businesses across Topeka to see first-hand the hard work they are doing for their communities. His stops included Kansas Medical Center Clinic, Washburn Rural North Middle School, Topeka Airport Authority, the Diaper Depot, and the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition.
Highlights from the visits included:
Kansas Medical Center Clinic
Senator Marshall first visited the Kansas Medical Center Clinic, Kansas’s first facility to implement Gentle Cure.

Topeka Airport Authority
At Topeka Airport Authority, Senator Marshall met with Go Topeka’s new CEO, Molly Howey. They discussed opportunities for the regional airport and their hope to continue developing the airport and the state’s aviation industry.

Washburn Rural North Middle School
Senator Marshall then met with staff at Washburn North Middle School, Washburn’s new middle school, to walk the halls and hear how they are preparing for students’ return to school this month.

Breastfeeding Conference
Senator Marshall spoke at the Topeka Breastfeeding Conference, sharing his expertise on quality maternity care as an OBGYN for 25 years and how he is advocating for strong rural hospitals and community health centers.

Diaper Depot
Lastly, Senator Marshall visited Topeka’s Diaper Depot, a program part of the Community Action Organization designed to help families with the costs of diapers.
