Senator Marshall Celebrates Kansas Cattle Producers
Great Bend – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), joined Senator Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska) to introduce a resolution designating May 2026 as National Beef Month and highlighting the important work American cattlemen do to feed the country. Kansas ranks third nationally with 5.95 million cattle on ranches and in feedyards across the state, generating $11.7 billion and employing over 38,000 Kansans.

“Growing up a 5th-generation farm kid, I know firsthand that nobody raises better beef than Kansas,” said Senator Marshall. “Our ranchers work hard to provide delicious, nutritious beef to American families. I’m proud to celebrate them this month.”
Background:
- Senator Marshall has long supported American Beef, including praising the USDA’s “Product of USA” Label campaign this year. In 2022, Senator Marshall introduced the Bona Fide Beef Branding Act to easily distinguish American beef for customers at the grocery store.
- Senator Marshall introduced the DIRECT Act last fall to support expanded marketing of state-inspected beef products across state lines.
- Senator Marshall supported the Trump Administration’s updated nutrition guidelines, which encourage beef consumption.
