ICYMI: Senator Marshall on Fox Business: We have no idea where illegal immigrant ‘gotaways’ are or what they are doing in America
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined The Evening on Fox Business to discuss his questions for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during yesterday’s Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. In response to one of Sen. Marshall’s questions, Sec. Mayorkas admitted that there have been over 600,000 known illegal immigrant ‘gotaways’ this year alone.

Highlights from Senator Marshall’s interview include:
On Sec. Mayorkas blaming Congress for the crisis at the southern border:
“I think that our secretary has no idea how concerned people are back home about their safety and security. I think that he doesn’t either know that he doesn’t know the answer, or he refuses to answer the questions. He refused to take any type of accountability from the standpoint that their policies have turned on this magnet, so they’ll have 8 million people cross the border illegally under their watch.”
“The only fact we got out of him today is that he admits that 600,000 ‘gotaways’ have crossed the border this year alone. 600,000 ‘gotaways,’ people we have no idea where they’re from, what they’re doing here, where they are now.”
On Sec. Mayorkas’ defense of a DHS employee who expressed support for Hamas:
“I was in shock as well. I would just encourage the secretary to not be so defensive, to take accountability for this employee and say, ‘look, this employee made the mistake, she’s no longer working for us, and we’re going to move on,’ but instead he projects what Senator Hawley was talking about back at him. This is a constant theme of this administration, this projecting what they’re actually doing.”
On if the Biden Administration is working to fix the border collapse:
“Not at all. Just the opposite. To your point, that’s three times the size of the population of Kansas. 179 terrorists were caught trying to elude the border patrol, we have no idea where those people are, what they’re doing now. We want to know about them. 60,000 aliens of interest that have entered this country. We want to know who those people are. We know that they’re from countries like Afghanistan, from Iran, from Turkey. We want to know where they are as well. No comfort at all. I actually walked away more concerned than relieved.”
