Senator Marshall Announces Resumption of USCIS in Dodge City
Dodge City – On Thursday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D., announced the resumption of mobile services by U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) employees in Dodge City in November.
“Monthly mobile services are vital to helping our immigrant population continue their efforts to earn U.S. citizenship,” said Senator Marshall. “These people are an essential part of the regional workforce, and we want to support those who came to the U.S. legally and want to become U.S. citizens.”
As a result of the advocacy and efforts of Senator Marshall, the USCIS office in Wichita began offering monthly mobile services in three communities in Southwest Kansas in 2021. In May of this year, USCIS announced an agreement with the USDA to use the Farm Service Agency (FSA) office in Dodge City for all monthly MSI services moving forward. This provided a permanent, reliable location for all residents in Southwest Kansas.
However, these services were paused this summer. Following a meeting between Senator Marshall, it was announced that monthly mobile services would resume. Services will now be offered, by appointment, Nov. 17 – 20, at the FSA offices in Dodge City.
Prior to the state of mobile services, people in Southwest Kansas had to travel to Wichita or Kansas City USCIS offices for biometric and citizenship interview appointments.
