Senator Marshall: President Trump is Truly Making America Great Again

Senator Marshall Joins The Cats Roundtable on WABC

Washington – On Sunday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), joined WABC’s The Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis to discuss the Trump administration’s rapid success and the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk that has ignited a movement amongst young Americans.

On the most surprising things about the swamp as someone from middle America:

“Yeah, well, John, it was really deep, deeper than I could have ever guessed. What bothers me the most is our national debt. I think this is the biggest challenge that our nation is going to face long-term. I think the biggest surprise is, oh my goodness, you’re working with President Trump. But at 45, I couldn’t believe how much he got the needle moving. But then the swamp was so deep that it took him a while to get going. But this time around, he’s alive and well and making progress.”

On the rapid success of the Trump administration:

“You know, absolutely. And I think you’re seeing a lot of those America First policies. When they were sworn in, they hit the ground running. And, you know, even just today, I’m so excited to see Kash Patel on the FBI restoring trust back in something, a sacred agency like the FBI. So, he’s absolutely turning things around.”

On the Biden border crisis compared to President Trump’s border success:

“I have no explanation, but we do know there’s 400,000 violent criminal aliens that came into this country under Joe Biden, and now we’ve got ICE out there with the One Big, Beautiful Bill. We doubled the budget and the number of ice removal agents, and I had no idea it was so expensive to remove these illegals as well. And then on top of those, there’s thousands of terrorists here in the country as well, brought in under Joe Biden.”

On the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk:

“Well, I think we’re all stunned to see the horrible tragedy, the loss of Charlie Kirk, and I think I underestimated how important and influential of a person he was, especially with young conservatives. I know in my own office, I’ve never seen such a shock just flowing throughout Capitol Hill of young conservatives feeling like this Pied Piper, this person, he was like Elvis to these young Republicans in so many ways. So, it’s a tragedy that we lost him. And again, congratulations to Kash Patel and the FBI and the local law enforcement who hope we will bring justice for the sake of his soul.”

On voting integrity:

“There’s no doubt that whenever you start sending absentee ballots, you lose control. There’s just no way. I would love to have one day of voting. We all go in, we show an ID, even when we register to vote. I think that we could do a little bit better job of making sure that we are registering only citizens to vote as well. So, plenty of challenges there, but boy, it feels like that horse is out of the barn, and everyone’s used to this lazy version of early voting. But whatever the rules are, we need to apply them. I agree with you.”

On Secretary Kennedy’s work to transform our health care system:

“Yeah, he absolutely is. I’m excited to work with him on MAHA, as you know, 60-70% of Americans have some type of a chronic disease. And what we want to do is try to turn the sick care system into a true health care system. We think that nutrition is a big component of this, as well as exposure to toxins. 20% of our youth have a mental illness, if you can believe it. We certainly have our hands full trying to address all these different chronic illnesses.”

On the increase in autism in America:

“That’s a great question. I think certainly we’ve broadened the diagnosis of who we’re going to call people with autism, but the truth is, we don’t know, and that’s why we need a CDC and an NIH focused on different types of research to help us figure it that exactly out, and all I know is, a person that has autism, a poor diet is going to make it worse.”

On the future of America:

“Well, I think that again it’s hard to talk about the future when we’re mourning the loss of Charlie Kirk, but I’m just so grateful for all the young people out there that are going back to the values that we were raised on, values like faith and family and community, and if we just execute this very simple plan, well, this country is going to be fine, but we’ve got to get our values right, get people back to church caring for each other, just like we always have as a community, as a nation.”
