On the new scandal involving the FBI’s surveillance of Republican Senators:
“John, first of all, I’m shocked that they would actually go after Senator’s cell phones. And I think we need to figure out, did they have a warrant to do this or not? You know, we talk about lawfare, right? So, this is one more example of lawfare that the liberal media won’t talk about, how we’ve been attacked in this situation, and how they ignored all the Russia, Russia, Russia information as well.
“As for why? Look, I think they were attacking President Trump. They wanted to find information, and they wanted to take down some Republican Senators as well. They were looking for this big conspiracy, which certainly wasn’t there on the Republican side. Now, in my humble opinion, this attack was somewhat primed anyway, by Democrats.”
On whether this action breaches the Constitution:
“Well, this sounds like they broke the law. And I hope that the appropriate Committees up here would do a full-throated investigation, and whether that’s Senator Grassley in Judiciary or Rand Paul in his Homeland Security Committee as well, and the House should do the same thing. But we need to get to the bottom of it, and I would expect the Justice Department, as well as Pam Bondi, to start looking into this as well. But somebody needs to go to jail.”
On the status of the shutdown and how it’s affecting healthcare:
“Well, President Trump and I have been communicating about what healthcare looks like for the future of this country. This is something Dr. Oz and I have been working on since New Year’s Eve. You know, the problem with the Affordable Care Act is it’s not affordable. I was a physician running a hospital when the ACA was passed, and the worst nightmare in my life was trying to implement it. The ACA their insurance premiums have led to increased cost of insurance.
“Regardless of what happens up here, insurance premiums are going to go up 20% next year. We need to be focused on that. We have legislation that would help bring the cost of healthcare down. We have price tags, legislation that would force hospitals to show patients what the price would be before they have the procedure. We need to expand healthcare savings accounts. President Trump is doing what he can to bring down the cost of prescription drugs. And we have the pharmacy benefit.”
On the Democrats’ strategy to shoehorn healthcare funds for illegal aliens:
“So, in the Big, Beautiful Bill, we closed some loopholes where the Federal Government was paying for illegal aliens’ healthcare. So, we closed loopholes. And the CBO says that there were two million people, not me, not the Republican Party, the Congressional Budget Office. And I don’t always agree with their exact numbers, but they’re in the ballpark. That we were paying for, last year, two million illegal aliens’ healthcare. And in the Democrats’ package, they wanted to go back and basically reverse the Big, Beautiful Bill. They wanted to take away the real healthcare subsidy, and they want to reinstate that funding so that illegal aliens can get healthcare. I hope that makes sense.”
On how much longer the shutdown is likely to go:
“That’s a great question. And you know, the problem is that this is a political shutdown. Chuck Schumer was going to shut the government down no matter what. He had to respond to his radical left, liberal base out there. He had to do something. He got in such big trouble in the spring when he didn’t shut the government down. So, he had to shut the government down. We’ll have to ask AOC, The Squad, the liberal left, [and] traditional legacy media. When they have shot all the hostages, then they can let the government get back open again.”
