Sen. Marshall Releases PSA for Identity Theft Awareness Week

(Washington, D.C., January 30, 2023) – Today, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. released a public service announcement for the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Identity Theft Awareness Week, which takes place January 30 through February 3. Kansas is currently among the top 10 states most at risk for identity theft, and an estimated 1/3 of Americans will be victimized by some type of identity theft in their life. Additionally, the FTC found that identity theft was responsible for the most instances of fraud in the United States in 2021 with over 1.4 million cases reported. It is estimated that identity theft costs Americans billions of dollars’ worth of financial losses every year.
